In my PhD project, I use a Whole-Genome Sequencing data-set of the Mediterranean grass species Brachypodium distachyon, consisting of ca. 350 genomes from across its native range. My goal is to take advantage of techniques like Genome Wide Association Studies, Phylogenetics, Ecological Niche Modelling, and Genome-environment associations, in order to decipher the genomics of its adaptation to different environments, and the role Transposable Elements play on it.
